At the heart of BNL is development. We play a major role in the development and promotion of the game of basketball at grassroots level. Our clubs and players engage in skills acquisition clinics in their communities as well as nearby schools. Through our curtain raiser initiative, the league offers its platform to high school teams to compete against each other while our broadcast partners show the games live on TV. Through our partnership with Gauteng Basketball Association, we supported and promoted the Gauteng Women’s League.

We have also supported Basketball SA in hosting of Afrobasket Qualification Tournaments as well as the hosting of Basketball Africa League Qualification Tournament which was held recently.
